Beneficial Technology: New Choices

The common sense application of beneficial technology provides the opportunity for new choices in creating one’s home environs, whether new or re-designed.

These include new types of household technology, dozens of kinds of battery packs, new ways of generating power, a wide range of new security devices — and more.

Some of these innovations, if chosen, could refine one’s relationship with nature in interesting ways.

Among numerous possibilities, here are two examples:

A re-thinking about gravel driveways has resulted in a system which provides a base layer for these driveways.  This layer is made of snap-together recycled plastic.  Gravel spread on top of this base will not sink into the soil.  Thus, much less gravel is needed, both initially and ongoing.  For anyone who has seen their gravel sinking into the soil annually, during “mud season”, this new use of recycled plastic could be of interest.

A hand-held laser device is now available for the pruning of trees.  Instead of sending a saw up sixty feet (perhaps) — to attend to the tree — one can shine a laser beam.  Often trees are neglected because of the challenges involved in reaching branches which need attention.  Quickly and efficiently the laser device addresses that issue.

Whether preferring a “basic to basics” approach, or something more elaborate, the same available innovations can be beneficially utilized.

All choices are like stepping stones into one’s overall envisioning, specific planning and building — both innovatively and successfully.
