Winter Solstice

The Winter Solstice is a harbinger of change.  Now, available daylight will gradually increase during the traditionally colder season in the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere which includes our location in New England.

At this Winter Solstice we celebrate creativity with a playful metaphor wherein a dash of this and a dollop of that — from layer to layer — results in something which pleases us, and may be appealing to others as well.

The new season is, for us, a time of refining plans as we also continue to design into our systems the most worthwhile cutting edge components.  It constantly becomes easier to accomplish what we have long envisioned as appropriate adaptation to the increasing unpredictability of weather and other environmental phenomena.

There are numerous available products which make possible, with increasing ease and favorable price points, the creating of efficient and pleasing home environments which — only a decade ago — would have been either (1) impossible to readily build or (2) relatively exorbitant.  The same is true for power generation and storage.

The concept of thinking-out-of-the-box becomes superseded by the recognition that there is, in fact, no box when we allow our intuition and our minds to play with materials and processes that are significantly more diverse than the all-too-typical concepts about possibility.  These concepts are derived from limited thinking — or simply not having enough of the valuable information which is available via wide-ranging, and generously shared, expertise.
